Head of Marketing

Ideally you will have extensive experience in marketing in the food industry including retail, brand, digital and social. A passion for food, strategic marketing, NPD and the experience to ensure our marketing implements the Brookfarm vision.

This is an opportunity to combine your ingrained natural marketing abilities with leadership and management skills.

This is a role for either a Marketing Manager who is looking to transition to Brookfarm because you want to make a difference or for an experienced Marketing Executive in the food industry who is ready to step up into a Management position.

The role will include:

  • Developing, leading and managing our marketing team
  • Working closely with our Sales team to support their rapid growth across retail, distribution and corporate accounts
  • Building strong relationships with every area of Brookfarm
  • Increasing Brookfarm brand awareness
  • Refining and implementing our marketing plans and strategies
  • Working closely with our product development team to bring new products lines to domestic and international markets
  • Travel to visit key customers and participate in Tradeshows and Events

QA Manager – Maternity position

Brookfarm produces gourmet macadamia nut products – including muesli, oils and nut mixes – in our state of the art bakehouse located in Byron Bay, New South Wales.
Brookfarm is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with a thorough knowledge of quality and safety in the food manufacturing sector. This is a one year maternity position with the potential for full time employment after this period. Brookfarm produces gourmet macadamia products, sold to every corner of Australia as well as exporting to over 10 countries.
As Brookfarm’s Quality Assurance Manager, you will use your experience and skills while working with a committed, energetic team, to ensure that food safety, quality, and relevant documentation are of the highest standard. You will liaise with management, supervisors and fellow staff to drive best practice in the production environment and maintain a culture of quality.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the highest level of food safety and quality control for Australia’s leading manufacturer of gourmet macadamia products.
Conducting internal and external audits
Train fellow team members
Conduct QA checks
Drive continuous improvement across Brookfarm
Bakehouse administration
Perform GMP inspections in the facility
Manage food safety documentation
Organise food safety documentation
Manage other members of the QA team, delegate duties as required. To be done in conjunction with Bakehouse supervisors.
Investigate complaints and errors, and follow through with effective corrective action
Responsible and accountable for Quality Assurance and Food Safety Brookfarm wide

 Experience/skills required
Tertiary qualified in Food Science, quality management, food technology or similar.
Certified in HACCP, BRC or similar from a registered training organisation
2 years experience in Quality control
Able to create, maintain, and improve a food safety system for HACCP, FSSC22000, Costco GMP, BRC or similar
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills including word, excel (ability to use formulas etc), and email.
Strong leadership skills
Experience working with an ERP system preferred
Excellent organisational skills

Casual Position including nightshifts our Byron Bay bakehouse

There is a casual position open for the right person to join the dynamic, friendly Brookfarm team in our Byron Bay Bakehouse

Brookfarm is a food manufacturer with a difference – for us it starts on the family farm; our passion is to produce the highest quality real food and to make a difference to our community and the environment.
A successful candidate would help in all aspects of creating our delicious products including blending, baking, packing, machinery operation, quality checks, weighing ingredients. problem solving, cleaning and everything in between.
Here at Brookfarm, we proudly make the highest quality Macadamia products for our award winning range, from Muesli’s, to Porrij, to Muesli Bars and delectable nut mixes.
We are looking for people who want to be involved  – to become a part of our extended Brookfarm family, not just clock in and clock out.

Must haves:

  • Excellent eye for detail and quality, second best is not good enough, only the best will do
  • Physically fit
  • Positive team skills and work ethic
  • Able to work well in a positive team
  • Able to do Shift work including night shifts starting at 11pm. Operating hours are 11pm to 6pm

Nice to have

  • Valid Forklift license
  • Experience in food manufacturing

Hours per week are between 20-30, rarely less, more often more.
This may be subject to change.

 Experience in the food industry is a preference but not compulsory
