Quality Assurance Manager 

Brookfarm is a generational family business, producing world-class macadamia based products including award winning mueslis, granolas, macadamia oils, muesli bars and premium nut blends. From its humble beginnings at the Bangalow Market in the Norther Rivers, NSW, Brookfarm now employs over 70 staff throughout its thriving business at its state-of-the-art Byron Bay Bakehouse and at its macadamia farm in the Byron hinterland. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest level of food safety and quality control for Australia’s leading manufacturer of gourmet macadamia products
  • Manage QA to Global Food Safety Standards
  • Conducting internal and external audits
  • Train fellow team members
  • Conduct QA checks
  • Drive continuous improvement across Brookfarm
  • Bakehouse administration
  • Perform GMP inspections in the facility
  • Manage food safety documentation
  • Organise food safety documentation
  • Manage other members of the QA team, delegate duties as required. To be done in conjunction with Bakehouse supervisors.
  • Investigate complaints and errors, and follow through with effective corrective action
  • Responsible and accountable for Quality Assurance and Food Safety Brookfarm wide

 Experience/skills required

  • Tertiary qualified in Food Science, quality management, food technology or similar
  • Certified in HACCP, BRC or similar from a registered training organisation
  • 3 years experience in Quality control Management
  • Able to create, maintain, and improve a food safety system for HACCP, FSSC22000, Costco GMP, BRC or similar
  • An ability to implement Food Safety plans practically on all sites
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good computer skills including word, excel (ability to use formulas etc), and email
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience working with an ERP system preferred
  • Excellent organisational skills
