Enjoying the Simple Pleasures of Summer
"Let’s be footloose and fancy free for February. Relish in the delights which only summer brings. Ice Cream is for lovers..."
As we soak up the final month of summer, let’s make the most of the long days and the simple pleasures these warm months bring us. It’s the sand between our toes, the cicadas deafening shrill, pools and BBQ’s. It’s the beach after work, fresh prawns on crusty bread and watermelon. It’s ice cream. It’s not having a shower at the end of the day cause the pool’s good enough. It’s humidity and afternoon thunderstorms, the beauty of frangipanis and the sweetness of mangoes. It’s festivals, sand, midnight swims and more sand. It’s Triple J Hottest 100, camping trips and road trips. Simple pleasures. So much joy. These things which shaped our childhood memories and have formed our adult traditions. Let’s be footloose and fancy free for February. Relish in the delights which only summer brings. Throwback to nostalgic days of old. Play backyard cricket, have fish n chips on the beach, swim in the rain, go fishing. Crack out the epic slip n slide, jump on the trampoline or run through the sprinkler. Soon it will be open fires, slow cooked meals and those beautiful crisp winter days. But until then… …eat the ice cream.
