Key Account Manager

Based in Byron Bay, Brookfarm is a generational family company that has been committed to regenerative Australian farming, sustainably sourced ingredients, and regional food production of the highest quality for over 20 years. We are Australia’s leading producer of gourmet muesli and snacks sold in independent retailers, health food stores and online, employing over 50 staff across our local macadamia farm, bakehouse and administrative headquarters in the Northern Rivers, NSW. We are also passionate about regenerative farming and rainforest regeneration on our farm.

We are seeking a full time Key Account Manager to join our sales team. This role will suit someone who is highly motivated and well-organised with excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail. You will have a positive attitude, great commercial acumen, and drive to achieve sales target through excellent strategic execution.

General Summary:

As a crucial part of the sales team the KAM will build and execute profitable and sustainable business plans with a group of key customers. The role is also required to pitch for new business, deliver reports and forecast sales on products and growth expectations by account.

  • Implement the agreed sales strategy to achieve Brookfarm sales goals
  • Manage and develop existing customers and new business opportunities
  • Deliver on growth targets in conjunction with stakeholders to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Promotional planning and budget management
  • Development of sales presentations, reports and proposals
  • Analyse margins and sales to ensure profitable sustainable growth.
  • Attend Tradeshows and appropriate travel to key customers.
  • Input and delivery (if required) of social media strategy
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Production, Finance and Warehousing teams to deliver exceptional service to our customers
  • Assist in the development of the annual sales plan, specifically advising on: realistic forecasts for each product and account (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy and sales effort)
      Essential Competencies and Attributes:
      • Minimum intermediate level in Excel – must be familiar with formula’s, V-lookups, Pivot tables etc.
      • Strong skills across full Microsoft Office Suite
      • Experience in using ERP systems and analysing data to develop positive actions
      • High level of professionalism and a positive can do attitude
      • Demonstrated examples of execution of strategic direction
      • Ability in forecasting and budgeting
      • Ability to plan and execute in the short, medium and long term and meet deadlines
      Preferred Competencies and Attributes:
      • Previous experience in Key Account Management
      • Understanding of FMCG, particularly food
      • Tertiary qualifications
