Brookfarm is a generational family business, producing world-class macadamia based products including award winning mueslis, granolas, macadamia oils, muesli bars and premium nut blends.

From its humble beginnings at the Bangalow Market in the Norther Rivers, NSW, Brookfarm now employs over 65 staff throughout its thriving business at its state-of-the-art Byron Bay Bakehouse and at its macadamia farm in the Byron hinterland. Sold nationally through independent supermarkets and quality grocers, it has a growing footprint in the food services industry, and sells into over 15 markets internationally.

It is as farmers that the Brook family built their first business, with its values steeped in the rural landscape of the Northern Rivers with environment, community and real food at its core.

EXPORT SALES MANAGER

We are looking for a motivated Export Sales Manager to drive profitable and sustainable business growth in existing and new export markets for retail and food service.

Core functions:

  • Implement agreed sales and marketing strategies, business plans and review performance to targets.
  • Build relationships with existing key accounts and distributors.
  • Identify new business opportunities, new markets and build market entry plans.
  • Develop and maintain regular sales reports to share internally and externally.
  • Use sales data to analyse performance of SKU’s, customers, distributors and regions and recommend areas of improvements.
  • Understanding of retail (bricks and mortar and online) and food service channels.
  • Assist with the development of sales presentations and proposals.
  • Attend Tradeshows and appropriate travel to key markets.
  • Ensure effective development and implementation of sales policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Production, Finance and Warehousing team.
  • Assist in the development of the annual sales plan, specifically advising on forecasts for each product and market.
  • Creation and implementation of promotional plans.
  • Project Management – assist in the driving of internal projects to completion
    Market, Competitor and category analysis to identify trend and opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with export product compliance and knowledge of regulations by market.

What you’ll need to bring to Brookfarm:

Passion, drive and entrepreneurial spirit. Experience in dealing with export markets including South East Asia and the Middle East. Tertiary qualification preferably in a relevant field. Fluent in a language other than English preferable but not essential.

MACHINERY OPERATOR

We are looking for a motivated machinery operator to join our dynamic, friendly team in our Byron Bay Bakehouse.

Brookfarm is a food manufacturer with a difference – for us it starts on the family farm; our passion is to produce the highest quality real food and to make a difference to our community and the environment.

The successful candidate will help in all aspects of creating our delicious products and specifically operate our state-of-the-art packing machinery. This key part of our process requires a person to be an excellent problem solver with an eye for efficiency and a calm head under pressure.

Must haves:

  • Excellent eye for detail and quality
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Some technological knowledge – Machinery, IT or similar
  • Physically fit
  • Ability to multitask
  • Calm under pressure
  • Positive team skills and work ethic
  • Able to work well in a positive team
  • Able to do shift work – shifts are between 5am-6pm
  • Take pride in your work
  • Leadership potential

Nice to have:

  • Valid forklift license
  • Experience in food manufacturing
  • Machinery operation experience

Hours per week will be dependent on the appropriate candidate with a view to moving into a full-time position.

PRODUCTION LEGENDS (Full Time / Casual)

As a production legend, you are responsible for providing support to the Bakehouse teams, helping to perform all positions within the multiple sites of Brookfarm (Packing, Blending and Cleaning etc..)
The production team member is a key role at Brookfarm as you will be providing support not only to the Bakehouse Supervisor but to the team as a whole. You will also be tasked with helping to ensure the cleaning and shutdown of the facility is well maintained and efficiently functioning to maintain our high level of FSSC certification, this is vitally important.
In your role you will be a member of the Operations team, supporting the Bakehouse team, Supervisor and reporting to the Operations Manager.

SHIFT – 5am to 6pm (subject to change)

Important concepts

  • The Bakehouse and surrounds need to run smoothly, be clean, organised, and be safe
    • To achieve this, you will need to assist your Supervisor and other members of the team by following procedures and instructions for daily operation of the facility
  • Comply with food safety requirements through cleanliness and a thorough eye for detail throughout the daily operations
  • Comply with all legal safety requirements to make it a safe place to work for all

Desirable Qualifications / Skills

  • Machinery operation and computer skills are an advantage
  • Good communication and flexible attitude
  • Good understanding of safety in the workplace

Duties include (but not limited to)

  • Packing of goods, clean down of facility and equipment
  • Providing support to the Bakehouse Supervisor and Leadership Team
  • Responsible for helping to maintain the bakehouse in a food safe standard (FSSC)
  • Comply with all legal safety requirements, ensuring a safe place to work for all
