We are excited to introduce the latest members of the Brookfarm Premium Nut Mix Range, bringing Australian flavours to life. A blend of premium oven roasted nuts featuring Australian macadamias, cashews & almonds in two gourmet flavours: Australian Lime & Sea Salt and Smokey Australian Saltbush.

Australian Lime

The Australian dried lime powder in our Roasted Nuts Australian Lime & Sea Salt is made from 100% fresh Queensland whole limes direct from Australian farmers, including the flesh and peel, creating a refreshing zesty flavour.

Our Australian dried lime powder is a unique and tangy ingredient, resulting in a flavour profile quite different from fresh limes.

The gentle drying process retains the nutrients and intensifies the citrusy tartness while adding complex, almost smokey undertones and a sour and citrusy kick.

Applewood Smoke Flavour

Our Applewood Smoke flavour captures the essence of applewood, known for its mild and sweet smokey flavours and delicious aroma - a popular choice for adding flavour to culinary creations.

A very select choice of hardwoods from sustainable timber sources are used in a closed loop production, where everything is used and reused, to carefully capture and condense the aromatic compounds found in applewood smoke.

The unique smoke flavour of gently charred applewood blends perfectly with the salty flavour of dried Australian saltbush in our Roasted Nuts Smokey Australian Saltbush. This combination captures the essence of an Australian bush campfire, captured in every crunchy bite.

Saltbush

Salt bush is one of Australia’s most delicious and unique native herbs, traditionally used in Indigenous baking. This versatile herb thrives in South Australia’s arid, salty soils and helps reclaim saline land.

Rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, saltbush is a powerhouse of nutrition. It derives its salty flavour from the saline-rich soils in which it grows, and contains 20% less sodium than table salt. The distinctive saltbush flavour allows for a reduction of added salt, making it a fantastic option to reduce sodium intake without compromising on flavour.

Macadamias

There’s no doubt that Australian macadamias are the heart and soul here at Brookfarm, with our beginnings as a macadamia farm. The only nut native to Australia, and have been around for 60 million years!

Not only are they delicious, they are one of the most nutritious nuts, being one of the richest sources of monounsaturated fat, which is beneficial for heart health. They are high in vitamins, minerals and fibre, and a great source of antioxidants. And the soluble fibre in macadamias acts as a prebiotic, helping feed beneficial gut bacteria.

Did you know cashews are not actually nuts, but rather a drupe seed? Cashew trees produces yellow and red oval 'apples' with a kidney-shaped formation growing at the end. These formations, also called drupes, are harvested and become what we know as a cashew nut.

Cashews are a great source of copper, magnesium, zinc and biotin. They are rich in healthy fats, including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated, which can help with cardiovascular well-being. Their low glycemic index aids in blood sugar control, making them a healthy snack choice.
